
Vivian Ada Krohn Age 90, passed away Saturday, October 30th, at her Waukegan home where she had lived for 62 years. She was born on December 29, 1919 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Rudolph and Ruth (Amend) Willert. She grew up in Milwaukee, graduated from Washington High School in 1938, and married her childhood sweetheart, Kenneth, on May 8, 1942. At the end of the war, they moved to Waukegan where they raised six children. Vivian and her husband, Ken, operated Otto's Paint and Gift Shop on Genesee St. from 1945 until its closure in 1971. She then went to work at the Lake County Courthouse in the finance department until she retired in 1987. She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and always looked forward to Aebleskiver celebration, which is this Saturday. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth, in August of 2009 after sharing 67 years of marriage together. Also included in passing are two brothers, Clarence and Robert Willert, and her parents. She is survived by her six children; Suzanne (Jim) Draper of Gobles, MI., Douglas (Sigie) Krohn of Gurnee, IL, Craig (Denise) Krohn of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Gary (Karen) Krohn of Walton, KY, Beverly Peacock of Carrollton, TX, and Keith Krohn of Beach Park, IL. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; Jaime (Brian) Kretz of Freeland, MI, Carrie (Erik) Hodge of Royal Oak, MI, Melissa (Jeff) Swanson of Rockdale, IL, Eric Krohn of Gages Lake, IL, Danielle Krohn of Gurnee, IL, Tim Krohn of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Nicholas Krohn of Tampa, FL, Kevin Krohn of Herrin, IL Jenniffer (Craig) Lyness of Greenwood, IN, Stephanie Krohn of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Nicole (Andrew) Peacock-Anhaiser of Riverside, CA. She was also blessed with seven great- grandchildren; Jocelyn, Julia. and Jeremiah Kretz, Khloe Swanson, Aidan and Henry Lyness and Klara Hodge. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 2 from 5:00 to 8:00p.m. at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee, 305 Cemetery Road and 10 to 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 3 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 620 Grove Avenue, Waukegan, IL followed by a service at 11:00a.m. Interment will be at Northshore Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
