Wilton A Arthur

Wilton A. Arthur, age 90, of Wadsworth, IL, passed away on 8/28/2022 at his home. He was born August 21, 1932, in Aiken, South Carolina, and was an active member of Immanuel Church in Gurnee, IL. Wilton served as a Trustee and Sunday School teacher, among other church roles.

He proudly served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 in Toul-Rosieres, France. Wilton worked in mechanical engineering with United States Steel for 20 years and Abbott Laboratories for 19 years before retiring in 1999.

Wilton’s hobbies included golf, reading, travel, and spending time with family. A lifelong learner, he studied the Bible, calculus, and vocabulary while even passing his driving test just two weeks ago. Throughout his long life, he provided help for his family, friends, and anyone in need. First and foremost, he loved the Lord and is now with his wife JoAnn in heaven.

He will be sadly missed by his son Mark (Linda) Arthur of Lake Forest, IL, and three grandsons, Ryan, Eric, and Michael. He is survived by one sister Ella Burroughs in Arnoldsburg, West Virginia.

In accordance with Wilton’s wishes, private family services will be held. Donations can be made to the Immanuel Church Building Fund (2300 N. Dilleys Road, #1002, Gurnee, IL 60031).
