She is survived by her husband Lance; children, Zachary, Ariella, Avi, Joshua and Yakira, of blessed memory; her parents, Rochelle and Marshall Baltuch; sister, Robyn and the entire Baltuch and Winslow families.
Aleza was a caring individual who touched the lives of all she came in contact with. Caring for children was her passion, whether as a Child Life Specialist in a variety of hospitals in Miami and New York, as a labor and delivery nurse, as a summer camp nurse or working at Moriah, her childrens’ school.
Growing up in North Miami Beach, Florida, Aleza was active in her synagogue, Beth Torah as a member of its youth choir, Kadima and USY programs. She attended Blue Star Camps, USY on Wheels, Israel Pilgrimage and the March of the Living.
She led her class at the Samuel Scheck Hillel Community Day School, (Scheck Hillel Community School) as yearbook editor and senior class president. At Syracuse University, where she earned her BA, she was active in Hillel and Sigma Kappa sorority. At Wheelock College, earning her Master’s, she was involved in many organizations. Aleza also received a nursing degree and a masters from Pace University in New York.
On moving to Bergenfield, the entire community learned how important her involvement in community life was to her by her active roles at her synagogue, Keter Torah, Chai Lifeline and Moriah. The outpouring of friends during the 3 year illness is a testament to her ability and desire to do for others. Aleza never said no.
Most important to her were her husband, Lance; her children, Zachary, Ariella, Avi, Joshua and her beloved Yakira. You could find Aleza on the ball field, coaching games, cheering her kids on, teaching and enjoying anything with her children.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 16, 2015 at Gutterman-Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors, 402 Park Street, Hackensack, NJ, and internment followed at Mt Hebron Cemetery in Queens, NY.
Shiva will be observed at the family residence.
