July 25, 1930 – February 15, 2025
We are saddened to announce the passing of Bernice “Bunny” Jaffe, who passed away on
February 15, 2025, at the age of 94.
Bunny was born on July 25, 1930, in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated from Hunter College in New
York City and went on to teach nursery school and kindergarten. She married Leon in 1951 and
together they enjoyed over 67 years of marriage. They settled in New Milford, NJ in 1963, where
they raised their three children. Leon predeceased her in 2017.
A lifelong advocate for helping others, Bunny was passionate about volunteer work. She
dedicated many years to B’nai B’rith Women, notably raising funds for Hadassah Hospital in
Jerusalem. She also worked tirelessly to support those in need, helping to feed the homeless
and volunteering with Family Promise to aid families experiencing housing insecurity. Her
generosity, compassion, and love of people were evident in everything she did.
Bunny’s greatest joy was her family, and she is survived by her children, Steve and his wife
Candace, Sharon and her husband Larry Schwartz, and Bob and his wife Lori, along with her
seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her warmth,
kindness, and deep love for her family and community.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jewish Women International, Family Promise, or
the Jewish Community Center of Paramus.
May her memory be a blessing
