Denise M Shachtman

Denise earned her master’s degree in Speech Pathology from Montclair University and achieved national certification in her field. She dedicated her professional life to helping others as a speech therapist, while also expressing her creativity as a talented makeup artist. Above all, Denise took great pride in her role as a homemaker, creating a home filled with care, comfort, and joy.

Denise found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved shopping and traveling and faithfully sent a warm “Good Shabbas” message each Friday, along with thoughtful greeting cards that marked every occasion with care and love. Time with family meant everything to her, especially the quiet moments spent beside her beloved husband, Jeffrey, her partner of nearly 47 years, as they relaxed together watching their favorite television series.

Denise also held a special place in her heart for her 3 nieces, Brooke, Alexis and Lindsay whom she treated like daughters and her great-niece, Mila, whom she adored deeply.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jeffrey; her sister, Marlene (Herbie); her nieces, Brooke (Shaun), Alexis, and Lindsay; and her nephew, Jason (Jennifer). She is also survived by her cherished great-nieces and great-nephews, Jack, Jace, Brynn, and Mila.

She will be remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and the love she so freely gave. Denise’s presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the many lives she touched.

Shiva will be held in Jeffreys' Home following the burial from 1:00pm - 9:00pm

A Committal Service will be held at New Mt. Lebanon Cemetery 189 Gill Lane Iselin, NJ 08830 on April 27, 2026 at 11:00 am.
