

Born and raised in New York, NY, she lived in Hillsdale, NJ for 34 years before moving to New Rochelle, NY in 1994.
Donna was a teacher in the NYC Public Schools for 10 years before teaching at the Moriah School in Englewood for 17 years before retiring in 1990.
She enjoyed traveling, music and the arts and was passionate in her support of Jewish life.
Pre-deceased by her first husband, Ernest L. Sommer, in 1990 and her second husband, Stanley I. Batkin, in 2015, she is survived by her 3 sons, Bob and his wife Marjorie of Ridgewood, NJ, Benjamin and his wife Jennifer Dugdale of Teaneck, NJ, Jeff and his wife Lisa of Johannesburg, South Africa, a brother, Mordechai Lapin and his wife Monica of Pittsfield, MA, a sister, Yette Avnet and her husband Irv of Levittown, NY, and her 7 grandchildren: Alex, Will, Amanda, Haley, Avraham, Sarah, and Eliana.
Chapel services will be held on Friday, November 6th, at 1:00 pm, Gutterman-Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors, 402 Park St, Hackensack, NJ 07601. Interment will follow at the Cedar Park Cemetery, 735 Forest Ave, Paramus, NJ 07652.
Shiva
Shiva will begin briefly at the cemetery immediately after the burial. Family will also be receiving friends after the cemetery,and Sunday afternoon and evening from 1pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 9 pm (with Mincha at 3 pm and Maariv at 8 pm)

Shiva will also be held Saturday night 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm and Sunday morning 9 am to noon (with Shacharit at 9 am)
at the home Benjamin Sommer 566 Sunderland Road, Teaneck, NJ 07666;
Shiva will continue Monday through Wednesday at Ben's home in Teaneck from 7 am to noon, and 3 pm to 9 pm (with Shacharit at 7 am, Mincha at 4 pm, and Maariv at 8 pm)
Thursday morning at Ben's house in Teaneck, ending after Shacharit at 7 am
