

Lt. Colonel (retired) of the U.S. Army reserves, Eliot Goldman, age 65, of New York City passed away on October 31, 2022. He is predeceased by his mother, Tamara Goldman and is survived by his father Herbert, brothers Glenn and Barry, and his partner, Tamara Simakova. He was the beloved uncle of Aaron, Nathan, Jason, Jacob, Seth, and Ethan and great uncle of Talia, Rafi, Aiden, Shira, Tyler, and Evan. Family and friends were important to Eliot and a big part of his life. He was born in New York City and raised in Englewood, NJ, and returned to the Upper West Side of New York to make his professional life. After graduating from Dwight Morrow High School, he received his undergraduate degree from Columbia where he majored in history and economics, and then graduated from law school at Washington University in St. Louis. Eliot was self-employed with a law practice focusing on real estate and probate, as well as owning and managing a portfolio of apartments. Using his expertise and experience in real estate and as a real estate attorney on behalf of the U.S. Army, he was instrumental in protecting the location of the joint armed forces recruiting station in Times Square.
As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eliot's memory to either Friends of Israel Disabled Veterans (FIDV) or Hadassah.
