

Born September 24, 1957 in Brooklyn, New York, he was known for his sage advice, quick wit, outside-the-box thinking, great sense of humor, fun-loving nature, devotion to his family, and signature mustache. He started his career as a very successful trial attorney for over twenty years, but will mostly be remembered for the heart and soul he poured into Camp Louemma as its Executive Director for twenty-two years, and the many lives he touched through camp.
Hal is survived by his loving wife Arlene, two sons Brandon and Brett and daughters-in-law Lauren and Debbie, four grandchildren Liam, Nessa, Morgan, and Zander, his sisters Lori and Jody, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at Gutterman and Musicant Funeral Home, 402 Park Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601 on Friday, December 19, 2025 promptly at 12:15pm.
The interment will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery, 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, NJ 07652. After conclusion of the cemetery service, friends and family are welcome at the home of Brett and Debbie Pugach, 2042 Church Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076.
The family will also sit shiva on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and on Sunday December 21, 2025 from 11:00am to 1:00pm, at the home of Brett and Debbie Pugach, 2042 Church Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076.
Shiva will also be held at the home of Brandon and Lauren Pugach, 23 Callison Lane, Vorhees, NJ 08043 on Sunday, December 21, 2025 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
Additionally, shiva will be held at the home of Lori Pugach, 98G Arrowood Road, Manalapan, NJ 07726 on Monday and Tuesday, December 22 and 23, 2025 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
