Iris Geylin (nee Spivak) died peacefully December 13 surrounded by members of her loving family in her home at Juniper Village, Paramus, NJ.
The 93-year-old mother of three, grandmother of four and great grandmother of six was married for 33 years to Ronald Geylin who predeceased her in 1986. Since his death, Iris spent her days in her homes in Emerson, NJ, interacting with friends and family, especially giving her time participating in the growth and the development of her progeny; this meant her homes were often filled with laughter and joyful sounds of children at play.
A cat and dog lover, she had several of each during her married and widowed life; her homes were filled with memories, art and mementos of her four-legged friends.
An avid reader, she spent many years as a librarian at Emerson Public Library where she loved interacting with patrons.
Iris, who steadfastly worked to ensure family unity, is survived by daughter Lori; sons Michael and Ross; daughters-in-law Rosanne and JoAnne; grandchildren Rachel (Kevin), Joseph (Kathryn), Chelsea (Julian) and Ronald (Olivia); great-grandchildren Luke, Maya, Gavin, Vincent, Astrid and Henry, and brother-in-law Henry Geylin.
She was the daughter of Joseph and Viola Spivak of Beechhurst, NY.
