Jeff passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025. Born May 26, 1949 to Archie and Gussie Grunstein in Jersey City, NJ. He is predeceased by his parents, older brother William Grunstein and sister-in-law Gina Grunstein.
Jeff leaves behind lifelong friends, his brother Laurence and sister-in-law Donna, many beloved nieces, nephews, Fran (Gregg) DeSouza, Neil (Pamela) Grunstein, Lisa (David) Eisenbud, Alan (Denise) Grant, Scott (Allison) Greenstone, Sara (AJ) Mass and Jarrett Grunstein. Grandnieces and nephews, Tiffany, Chris, David (Annina), Lena (Scott), Ruby, Jada, Xander, Jonah, Emily, Justin, Matt, Amanda, Alexandra, Jonathan, Vivienne and Samantha were the light of his life.
After graduating from Snyder High School, he pursued careers as a computer programmer and a sports photographer but those were sadly cut short by disability. This did not dampen his spirit and he was a voracious sports fan and loved the NY Jets, Rangers and Yankees. He could share stats and team history at the drop of a hat. He was happiest when he was making someone laugh with his sharp sense of humor. Jeff loved classic rock music but was well versed in any genre.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11AM on Wednesday, July 2nd at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Iselin, NJ. Donations may be made in his memory to the Jewish Home at Rockleigh https://jewishhomefamily.org/foundation/ or the NY Jets Foundation https://www.newyorkjets.com/community/jets-foundation/
