
Born in 1925 in NYC, he attended Columbia College and Albany Medical College. He served in the Korean War as a medical officer in the US Navy. He returned to NYC, and began a long career practicing hematology and oncology, sharing an office with his beloved brother, the late George A Hyman. During his career, he served as Chair of the Departments of Medicine at the New York Polyclinic Hospital and St. Clare’s hospital, before joining the staff at Roosevelt Hospital. He was an avid art collector, world traveler, and photographer. He joined the Print Club of New York since its inception and served as President for 7 years. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his optimism, generosity, humor, and inclusion of people of all races and cultures.
Funeral service will be held at Noon on Thursday Oct 19th at Temple Emeth,1666 Windsor Road, Teaneck, NJ 07666.
Interment will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery, 735 Forest Ave, Paramus, NJ 07652.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the NY Historical Society, where his photographs of NY are a part of their permanent research library.
