

ZUCKER, Leo of Englewood Cliffs, NJ and West Palm Beach, FL died May 6, 2012. Born: January 31, 1922, Bronx, NY; graduated DeWitt Clinton HS in 1937 at 15; Enlisted in Air Force in 1939; stationed in Great Britain during WWII and took part in flyovers in North Africa and Europe; Married Eleanor Nelson of Leonia, NJ in December 1946 at Riverside Plaza, New York, NY.
He founded Robert Lee Realty Co., a real estate and construction company, with his brother-in-law Robert Nelson in 1948 in Palisade Park, NJ which continues today as a family concern located in New City, NY. The company and its affiliates owned and constructed post offices, apartment buildings, and shopping centers in Bergen County, NJ and Rockland County, NY.
He is survived by the love of his life, Eleanor, four children and their spouses: Lauren Kleeblatt and her husband, Robert Kleeblatt; Mark Zucker and his wife, Jane Zucker; Donald Zucker and his wife, Lynn Zucker and Cindy Rogers and her husband, Brian Rogers; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and his sister Estelle Cabot. He loved nurtured and valued his family above all. The New York Yankees and his charities came close behind.
In 1997, Leo and Eleanor founded the Leo and Eleanor Zucker Family Foundation Inc. the purpose of which is to fund worthy charities across the country, most notably Englewood Hospital, Englewood, NJ.

Graveside Memorial Service on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Moriah Cemetery at 685 Fairview Avenue, Fairview, NJ.
