Martin L Solomon

Marty was the loving husband for 62 years of the late Anita Solomon, the devoted “Dad” to Jeffrey (Ann) Solomon, Frances Solomon, and Ellen (Mark) Kaplan, “Poppa” to Sydney Rae and Spencer Kaplan and brother to Renee Nosanchuk of California.

Marty served as a Sergeant 1st class in the NY State National Guard and was employed by Mosstype in Waldwick, NJ as a Production Manager before retiring in 1999.

He was an active member of Congregation Beth Shalom in Teaneck, where he was a past President of Men’s Club and the 1975 Beth Shalomite of the Year.

A lifetime member of the Knights of Pythias, Marty served in several NJ Lodges, including as Chancellor Commander, was the recipient of Knight of the Year awards, and was awarded a Certificate of Recognition from the Grand Lodge for his service to the Pythian Order.

In November 2016, Marty relocated to Reno, NV, to be with his son and daughter-in-law.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The funeral service was held 10am on Sunday August 13, 2017 at Gutterman-Musicant 402 Park Street, Hackensack, NJ.

Interment followed at Cedar Park Cemetery. Paramus, NY.

Shiva/Luncheon: Immediately following the interment, all guests are invited for a Shiva Luncheon at Ellen and Mark's residence,
