Michael Allen Weiner, 78, of New Milford, NJ passed away on August 16, 2014. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Benjamin and Sydell Weiner, he attended M.I.T. where he attained a Ph.D. in Chemistry. He had been a professor of chemistry and former chairman of the Department of Chemistry at the City College of NY from 1962 until his retirement in 2003. He was also a long time member of the American Chemical Society.
Dr. Weiner was the beloved husband of Karen Weiner (nee Scheer); loving father of Mark Weiner, MD and his wife Meredith of Wynnewood, PA and Suzanne Eichenberger and her husband Roger of Melrose, MA; devoted grandfather of Daniel Eichenberger and Robin and Julie Weiner; cherished brother of Carl Weiner and his wife Judith of Tappan, NY.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Glendale, NY. Memorial donations may be made in Dr. Weiner’s memory to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (www.pancan.org).
