Ruth Meissner

Ruth I. Meissner of Bergenfield, NJ on April 21, 2017 at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Werner. Devoted mother of Debby and Jeffrey. Dear mother-in-law of Jodi Meissner and the late Steve Saloway. Loving grandmother of Nicole and Devon Meissner and Jennifer Wilson. Cherished great-grandmother of Steven Wilson.

Ruth devoted her time to her community. She was an elementary teacher for over 60 years beginning her career in Hackensack and retiring from the Bergenfield Board of Education. She taught ESL classes at the Bergenfield Library. Ruth was a member of Temple Emeth of Teaneck for over 40 years, where she enjoyed taking classes.

She loved her animals and a donation in her memory to the ASPCA in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.

The funeral service was held Sunday April 23, 2017 at the Gutterman and Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors.

Interment followed at Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus, NJ

SHIVA will be at the home of Jeffrey & Jodi Meissner on Monday April 24th 3pm-5pm & 7pm-9pm, 43 Burniston Court, Hillsborough, NJ 08844.
