Shirley Passow

PASSOW, Shirley, 90, of Englewood, NJ, passed away on May 27, 2012. Beloved wife of the late A. Harry Passow. Loving mother of Michael and Nancy Passow, Deborah and David Yaffe, and Ruth Passow Warburg . Cherished grandmother of Kate Passow, Sam Passow, Andrea Yaffe and Alan Halachmi, Alicia Yaffe, Jeremy, Zachary, and Jordan Warburg . Dear sister of Rosalyn Jacobs and Hannah Bernstein .

Shirley was married to A. Harry Passow for 52 years. She followed the unusual career path of newspaper reporter, school teacher, executive assistant, local Planned Parenthood Director, City Planner for New York City Department of Planning, and Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey Division of Law. Shirley was active in Congregation Kol HaNeshemah and many local organizations in Englewood, NJ.

Funeral Service to be held on Wednesday, May 30th, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Gutterman and Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors, 402 Park Street, Hackensack, NJ. Interment to follow at Beth El Cemetery, Paramus, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Congregation Kol HaNeshemah of Englewood, A. Harry Passow Fellowship Fund of Teachers College, Columbia University, or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
