

Stan is survived by his devoted and loving wife Cecily B. Rosenthal and was predeceased by his loving first wife Irene M.Y. Rosenthal. Stan is also survived by his sons, Mitchell and his wife Karen of Norwood, NJ, Richard and his wife Arlen of Silver Spring, MD, and was preceded in death by his third son, Douglas of New York. He is also survived by cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica, Rachel, and Lisa; great-grandchildren Gracie, Jake, Juliet, and Harper; and his sister, Ruth of New York and currently living in Cresskill. In addition he is survived by his stepchildren Sandra (John), William, Susan (Don), and step grandchildren Katie, Andrew, Natalie, and Isabel.
Stan was born in Paterson, NJ on November 9, 1921, to Jennie and Isadore Rosenthal. After attending local schools, he received his BA in Physical Education from NYU. Upon his graduation Stan enlisted in the Army Air Force and was commissioned as a First Lieutenant, serving in the European theater as a decorated bombardier and navigator during the Second World War. After his service, Stan was a successful Manufacturer's Representative for the securities industry in the NY/NJ metropolitan area for over 50 years.
In addition to his dedication to family and career, Stan was very active in numerous voluntary civic activities in Demarest including serving as Board of Education President for the local elementary and high schools; Borough Councilman, Police Commissioner, a founding member of the Demarest Library.
He also volunteered his time coaching Demarest Little League, supporting local Boy Scout troops, and volunteering as a Booster for the local NVRHS athletic department.
Stan enjoyed many happy years with his family and friends at their beach home in Southampton, NY. In his later years, he became an active member of the 492nd Air Force veteran's organization attending annual reunions all over the U.S. up until just a few years ago.
Stan will be remembered by all for his giving and unselfish nature and his perpetual optimism.
