Tara Janis Prince Goldman passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, at the age of 91. Born in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, she was raised in Fort Lee, New Jersey, and most recently resided in Southbury, Connecticut. Tara lived a life rich in love, learning, creativity, and deep devotion to her family and community.
A lifelong scholar and artist, Tara graduated as valedictorian of her high school class, reflecting her early dedication to education. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University and a Master of Fine Arts from Columbia University. Her passion for the arts and education blossomed into a fulfilling career as an inspiring artist and art teacher.
Tara was deeply involved in her community and faith. She was a devoted member of her temple and served as a past president of the Sisterhood at the Bergenfield Dumont Jewish Community Center and more recently as a board member at Beth El Synagogue in Woodbury CT.
She shared a beautiful life with her beloved husband, Warren Goldman, until his passing in 2013. Tara is survived by her loving children: Larry and his wife Alison, Alan and his wife Lisa, Anne and her husband Jeff, and Robert and his wife Jen. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Halley and Sean, Benjamin, Elliot and An, Jacob, Matthew, Zachary, and Zoe, and a cherished great-grandmother to August.
Tara’s warmth, intelligence, and creativity left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, a gifted teacher, and a loyal friend. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she nurtured.
