I never met Amber's grandmother, but I felt as though I knew her from all the wonderful stories she told me.  I'm so happy Amber got to visit her this past summer.  My condolences to the entire family.

Mrs. Schubert was a gentle, first-class lady. For as long as we have lived across the street for her (just short of 20 years), she has been an incredible source of joy to our family. She has been the "gate-keeper" of our cul-de-sac and has always watched out for all of her neighbors like we were her family. Since the day we brought our twins home from the hospital in September 2000, she has never forgotten Austin & Katie on any holiday or their birthday, to include the cards and gifts Mrs.Schubert had prepared prior to her death and that Christina brought over on the night of her death. Austin & Katie always took their friends over to visit and to check on her, always returning with a handful of candy. They would stop by on the way home from school from the bus stop and give her a "concert" with their trumpet and flute, and she would pay them each $1.00 for their talents! She posted their artwork and cards on her kitchen wall. As her house stands empty, we relish in the loving and heart-felt memories that we have of her, and we thank the Schubert family for sharing her with us for the last 20 years. Thank you, Mrs. Schubert, for touching our hearts in the way that you did, and for being such a positive influence on our children. They love  you like a grandmother and we will keep you in our hearts for eternity. We miss you dearly and wish you the best on your new journey. Love, thoughts, and prayers to you and to your family.

Our Mom was a beautiful and gentle lady. I'm proud to be her daughter. I have memories of meatloaf, canning, hanging clean clothes on the 'hill', learning how to economize with a large family and most of all how to love with a gentle touch. I'll always keep you with me in my heart my mom!

I am so glad we were able to visit her this past summer. She was so "Grandma", playing cards, having a "lil shnackie" after meals,and watching Lawrence Welk. She was such a special lady. I am pretty sure anyone that met her will ALWAYS remember her!! She was a CLASS act!!!One of a kind!! Always fun loving and caring!! I can still hear her singing Moon River when I play it on the piano!! Grandma, you will always be in my heart as in soooo many other's hearts!! I will miss and love you always!! Your picture will always and forever be by Grandpa's and Mitzi's on my frig door, to talk to, and tell you what is going on!!! I hope you are at peace and happy now!!! XO!!!
