Audrey Burke

Burke, Audrey Bernadette Cecilia, age 77, of Bridgewater passed away January 18, 2012 at her home. Born in Halifax she was the daughter of the late James and Gladys (Boutilier) DeYoung. She is survived by her ex-husband Wayne, sons David (Adrienne Markarian), Burlington Ontario, Scott, Halifax, brothers James W. DeYoung, Lower Sackville, Roy DeYoung, Ottawa and several nieces and nephews. Audrey was predeceased by her sister Barbara Fletcher and niece Kelly-Lynn Fletcher. Attended St. Thomas Aquinas School, St. Patrick’s High, and Miss Murphy’s Business College. A loving mother with a quick sense of humour, Audrey was always the life of the party. She worked as a receptionist, a mystery shopper and in home care. Audrey lived in many cities across the country, but was happiest when she was home in Nova Scotia. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, January 23, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax. Reception to follow. Interment to follow at Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
