Chandler, Basil, 86 of Halifax passed away April 13, 2013, at Northwood. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Ruth and Charles Chandler. He worked for several decades as a stevedore at the Halifax waterfront. He was a familiar face in Halifax and was well liked by all who met him. Basil is survived by June Chandler, New Glasgow; and Constance Chandler, Halifax; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Teddy, Victor, Avery, and Barry.
Visitation will be held at Cruikshank’s Halifax Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 17, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 18, at 2 p.m. with Rev.
