Bernice Kathleen Parris

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother. Born in Amherst, NS on September 24 1936, she lived a full and happy life of 88 years.

Predeceased by her children Patricia (sissy), Kim, and David Gabriel; sisters Donna and Gwen Parris, brothers Charlie and Wayne Parris, granddaughters Bridgette and Jasmine Gabriel, and late husband Aubrey Gabriel.

Survived by her children, Susan, Tony, and Blake Gabriel and adoptive daughter (granddaughter) Chantelle Gabriel. Sisters Patricia Witherow and Diane and Lynn Parris, as well as 12 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.

Bernice served as a nurse's aid for decades where she made a great difference in the lives of her patients. She was a food connoisseur, enjoyed spending time with family, travelling, doing puzzles, and the freedom of the open road. She was a foster mother and an entrepreneur in her younger years. Her genuine thoughtfulness, dedication, and generosity will always be remembered and carried through her family. She will be loved and her memory will be cherished eternally.

Funeral service will be held in Cruikshank’s Halifax Funeral Home on Wednesday August 6, 2025, at 11am.
