

Cleary, Charles “Chuck”- 67, of Bedford Nova Scotia, died on May 1, 2012 at home. Born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, he was the son of Charles Leo Cleary Sr. and Elsie Cleary of Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Hayes); daughters Angela Cleary, Enfield, and Heidi Cleary, Halifax; brothers Brian (Valerie), Stewiacke, Bernard, Truro, Wayne, Windsor; sister Bernice O’Connor (William), Lower Sackville; grandchildren Noah Doncaster, Jasmine Cleary-Gosine, Max Keddy, Kate and Braden Fairbanks. Chuck was a loving and steadfast father, husband and son, known for his independent spirit and love of nature and the outdoors. He would often be heard to say “we must all dance to our own tune”. He will be remembered for his lifetime passion for sports, especially running and canoeing, and for his commitment to his students during his teaching career. He taught Physical Education in junior and senior high for more than 33 years, principally at Hants East Rural High, located in Milford Station, Nova Scotia. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Mumford Road, Halifax, on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 2 pm., Rev. Father John Williams officiating, followed by a private burial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
