

Born September 26, 1970 to Patrick and Geraldine Askew. Corina loved to sing, playing piano and drums and was active in many church choirs as well as a few bands and singing groups. She enjoyed a career as a prison guard, as well as a an armed guard for Brinks security. Her passion in her past few years was taking care of her rescue cat Mr sexy noodle. Always taking or making time for her family was priority with her. She loved teaching her niece's how to defend themselves. Corina was always making new friends and helping everyone She could.
Corina is survived by her sister and best friend Marina Askew (Dartmouth), niece/ goddaughter Olivia Askew (Timberlea), niece Chanelle Jordan( Timberlea),step sisters Lorna ( Jim) Long ( Ft. McMurray Alberta), Shannon ( Jeff) Cowan ( Bath NB), Peggy Macdonald ( Halifax) her brother Michael ( Tammy) Askew (Timberlea), step brothers Stephen ( Deanna) Power ( Dartmouth), Billy Macdonald (Halifax), nephew Michael James ( Hannah) Askew ( Halifax), Austin Askew ( halifax) and Foster parents Rev. Jim ( Judy) Underwood ( Sackville).
A celebration of life will be held on January 10, 2026 at 10am in Cruikshank's Halifax Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St. Halifax with a reception to follow. A family internment will be at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Souls Harbour Rescue Mission in halifax.
