It is with great sorrow that we announce that Dale Ann Oxner, of Halifax, passed away on January 14, 2014, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Born in Newcastle, New Brunswick to the late Everett and Elizabeth (Jardine) O’Donnell, Dale spent her childhood in Millerton, New Brunswick. Life brought her to Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1977 where she met her future husband, Darrell, whom she married in 1978. In 1979 they welcomed their first son, Dwayne, followed by their second son, David, in 1982.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Dale was a proud and dedicated worker throughout her life. Even in times of illness she never slowed down. Her knack for conversation and heart of gold, traits inherited through her family roots, endeared her to whoever she spoke to and helped.
Dale is survived by her husband, Darrell; sons, Dwayne (Leslie) and David; grandchildren, Aaralyn, Josh, and Sam; sisters, Judy, Cathy (Bruce), Helen (Joe), and Melanie (Troy); and brothers, Terry (Brenda) and Perry (Linda).
Visitation will be held at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home in Halifax on Saturday, January 18th between 6 – 8 pm. A family burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Parker Street Food and Furniture Bank and/or Bide Awhile Animal Shelter.
