After McMaster, Diana became a nurse. She completed her Masters of Nursing at U of T and became a Professor of Nursing at Dalhousie University. Her students voted her as their favourite nursing faculty. Diana meant a lot to everyone who knew her. Each moment she had with others was a special one.
Family was always very important to her. Her parents would go with Diana to the Farmer’s market to indulge in cinnamon rolls. Diana had a sweet spot for her brothers’ John and Steven who she lovingly teased. Her nieces and nephews were never far from her thoughts. She was always able to find unique and thoughtful gifts for them.
Diana enjoyed walking in Point Pleasant Park and Lawrencetown Beach to be close to the oceans crashing waves, and finding inspiration for her pottery and photography. As a certified Master Gardener, gardening was a passion. She got her love for gardening from her father and her uncle Edward.
She was an advocate for the underprivileged and human rights. She was an amazing athlete, bicycling all year round and at the World Out Games, she placed amongst the top five Masters swimmers in Canada. Diana was also a writer and a musician. She was truly a multidimensional person and will be missed greatly.
Memorial reception will be held on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 1-3 pm at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax.
