Born on April 8th, 1938 Fernie B.C.Emmie served in the Canadian Airforce until the birth of her first child in 1961.She continued working as a civil servant in Communications for the D.N. D.
As a single mother of four, she took on a second job at the Mic Mac Hotel to make ends meet. She came to be everybody's favorite bartender at Riley's Lounge until her full retirement at the tender age of 75! It was her that she met her darling husband Ray, as well as cultivated lifelong friendships which surround her still today. Emmie especially came to know the love of her friends over these past few months.
Mom always looked forward to her Sunday cribbage club. She had a closet full of prizes to prove her mastery of the game, although Ray might disagree! We all know he is the true "Master"!
Remember her every time you enjoy a good meal, as she loved to make people happy through her fabulous cooking skills. Many a good time was had by family, friends and people in need at her often overloaded dinner table. Rest assured if you couldn't sit at her table she'd happily bring it to you.
Her quick wit, kindness and generosity have touched all who have known her, she was always willing to lend a hand, or hold your hand and she never, ever missed a fundraiser.
