Grace C. Brown

Brown (Morrison), Grace Catherine, 100, of Halifax, passed away January 9, 2015 at Northwood. Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Dan R. and Nellie (Johnson) MacDonald. She formerly lived in Sydney Mines, Bridgetown and Ayelsford. Prior to her first marriage, Grace was employed at T. Eaton Co., Sydney Mines. In later years, she was employed at drug stores in Bridgetown and Halifax. She was a member of the United Church of Canada. Grace is survived by her daughter, Shirley MacDonald, Dunnellon, Florida; son, Ronald Morrison, Kitchener, ON; five grandchildren; three great-grandsons and 2 great-granddaughters; brother, Earl MacDonald, North Sydney; step children, Minerva Occomore, Amherst, and Bernice Chapman, Amherst. She was predeceased by her first husband, Gordon Morrison; second husband, Robert Brown; son, Reginald Morrison; sister, Vimy Love; step children, Bertha MacDougall, Robert Brown, Joyce Morrison and Randolph Morrison; and brother, Reginald MacDonald. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Cruikshank Halifax Funeral Home. Interment will be held in the summer at Brookside Cemetery, in Sydney Mines.
