Martin, Herbert Ralph Age 69, of Halifax passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, September 14, 2014, in the Halifax Infirmary site, QEII after fighting the good fight for several months. He is now in the presence of his Heavenly Father. Herbie was born on April 1, 1945, in Amherst, N.S. He is survived by his beloved “soul mate” of 18 years Debbie Ring; sons, Ralph, Ronnie, and Craig; sister, Hazel; brother, Ronald (Sonny) Martin; 28 grandchildren one great-grandchild, Denise; and 3 step-children. Herbie was also a beloved uncle and friend to many nieces and nephews and his special friends. He was always a hard worker who enjoyed and loved his family and special friends. Herbie was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Daisy (Jones) Martin, 8 brothers, and 3 sisters. The family wishes to express sincere thanks and appreciation to the many friends who have been so helpful in this time of need; especially, his nephew, Clyde Martin and niece, Paula Gabriel.
