

Perrin, Jacqueline Margaret (Jackie) – 61, died 17 August 2014 in Halifax, NS after a brief illness. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1953, she was the daughter of the late William and Irene (Doyle) Perrin. Jackie was born with Downs Syndrome but did not suffer from it. She was a Special Olympian who won many medals in bowling and swimming over many years of competition and fellowship. She travelled, loved to dance & sing, and to have a meal out with friends and family. You could see the joy in her face when she said "I'm going to Cousins". She worked at the Prescott Group (prescottgroup.ca) for more than 30 years until her retirement in 2012. Jackie lived at home with her mother Irene until Irene was 94. In 2010 Jackie was extremely fortunate to have been selected as one of the first Core Members of the new L'Arche community in Halifax. She is survived by her siblings William (Eleanor), Fredericton, NB; Juanita Flynn, Halifax; Joan Theriault, Medicine Hat, AB; and Paul (Barbe), Dartmouth; and by nine nieces & nephews. She is also survived by her L'Arche Halifax family, including Anna Gardin and Viane Muliloto. She was predeceased by her brothers-in-law Patrick Flynn and Rheal Theriault. No visitation or flowers by request. Cremation has taken place. A funeral mass will be held at Blessed Mother Teresa Church (formerly St Stephen’s Catholic Church), Halifax on Thursday 21 August 2014 at 10:00 AM with reception to follow in the church hall.
