I am shocked and saddened to hear of Jellica's passing. Her smiling face will be missed by me and the other members at Fisherman's Cove Gallery, as she would sit enjoying the sunshine on quiet days.  I'm sorry I didn't hear the sad news in time to attend the visitation or funeral. Her family will all be in my thoughts and prayers.

I was in a bookclub with Jellica for some years. We shared many conversations about books we read, enjoyed many goodies over a cup of coffee, and discussed current affairs in which Jellica's opinions on topics was always welcome, as her Dutch heritage gave her a unique perspective on the world. She was such an energetic, life loving person, it is difficult to accept that she is gone. She spoke lovingly of her grandchildren, who will keep her alive through their memories.  My sincere sympathy to her family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Hugo and children and grandchildren! I am so sorry and shocked to hear of Jellica’s passing! She was a very special friend and Jesus’ love shone through everything she said and did. Through her love and eye for beauty, be it in creation, or in music or the arts. She would notice and she would encourage and serve wherever she could. She was very generous with her time and support, with her joy and appreciation. After a beautiful Sunday service we could often find her messages of appreciation and encouragement on the Facebook walls of those involved. She had also a great sense of humour and a deep love for all around her. We will miss her so much! I am happy for her, because she must be enjoying the beauty in heaven and be experiencing our Father’s deep love for her in such wonderful new ways. But my prayers are with all of you, because it is so hard to lose such a wonderful wife, mother and grand mother so unexpectedly and I am praying that you will experience our Heavenly Father’s nearness, strength, hope and comfort in special ways these days and in the weeks and months to come! I pray that He fills this huge dark hole, and that He wraps His arms around you in your tears and gives you strength to see new beauty. Under you are eternal arms!

She always had a smile and kind word whenever we met in our neighborhood.   She always inquired about our health and of course the animals.  She always had a pat for the horses and the dogs. So sad tot hear the news. We met Jellica a few years ago when she was visiting Holland and also us, a number of cousins. After that we followed eachother on facebook. Our deepest condolences tot Hugo and the rest of the family.

It's hard to believe that Jellica has passed away. As a child, I knew her as a mother, fellow church attender, and friend to my mother. She and Hugo attended our wedding and more recently, following my mother's death, we became friends ourselves. Rob, Ray, and Christine, and families, heartfelt condolences as you process this great loss in the weeks, months, and years to come, and also as you pick up some needed pieces. Blessings and strength.

Jellica was a neighbor that I knew loved gardening, art and Nature. Despite the long decline of her partner's health she never faltered in balancing her family's needs and that of her own spirituality. She enjoyed almost daily dog walks to the beach. Often we would talk about local events, big and small, when we saw one another on garbage days. Sometimes it was just the most recent deer visit story. She was a gentle soul that walked the path of love. She will be missed.

Jellica and I have been friends since our daughters started elementary school together and have been friends ever since.   No matter whether we were living close to each other or whether either of us lived elsewhere, we always remained in touch over the years.   No matter how long apart,whenever we reconnected, it always felt as if there had been no gap, the conversation continued.    A very comfortable friendship.   I consider Jellica to be my longest  friend in Canada and I'll certainly miss her.     I'm so sorry to hear that she has died.    My deepest condolences to her family.

I am so sorry to hear about Jellica's passing. I have such great memories of hanging out with your family when I was a kid, and your Mom was always so nice to me. My sincerest condolences.

I am deeply saddened by the news that Jellica has passed, what a tremendous loss to my All Nations Family. I am so grateful that I was able to share a quick visit with her last September when we visited church where I was able to stand beside her at communion and share the passing of the peace with her.  You were such a kind and caring friend to me for many years Jellica, I will miss your wisdom.

Jellica used to pick me up when  I babysat her children. I was in high school at that time. Since then I worked with Raymond for a year or so, when he lived in Ottawa with his parents. Jellica knit a Mormel doll for my son Peter, when he lost his. So kind and friendly. She and her husband gave my husband and I a double sized bed at one point in time...it wa s scary sleeping so high off the floor! ( we got used to it fairly quickly). I'm so sorry to hear the news, Hugo and children. A real shock to you. I lost my beloved husband in the same way almost 4 years ago. At least we know that she is in heaven now!
