Jerry will be sadly missed by Jeff, Emily and Bridget. He spent the final years of his life in Shad Bay, Nova Scotia to be closer to his much loved son and family.
He is also survived by his siblings, Dorthy and Sonny who loved him with all of their hearts and will miss him dearly. Jerry loved his nephews and nieces and their families. He frequently expressed great pride in their accomplishments over the years (Cindy, Howie, Bradley, Lori and Ari).
Jerry returned to Nova Scotia over a decade ago and was very grateful that he could fulfill his life long dream of living by the sea. He was passionate about nature. Each day he loved to feed the birds (his neighbours would often chuckle when they heard him calling the crows from a nearby island), enjoyed the marine life in the bay and watched the most spectacular sunsets from his deck and living room window. He was passionate about the ocean and fishing. He and Jeff spent many quiet mornings together on the water chatting and waiting to catch that “really big one!”
Jerry was an incredibly loving father, a romantic, a poet and a dreamer. He was able to fulfill his most cherished dreams and for that we are thankful.
To honour Jerry’s wishes there will be no funeral service or formal celebration of life. Jerry’s only request is that his ashes be scattered on the Atlantic Ocean while playing the song “I Did It My Way!”
