Hi:

I new Joyce and Reginald’s daughter Joanne and Susan when I moved to Basinview Drive in 1970. We got into mischief as young teenagers and I had a special relationship with the whole family.  For me the Prest’s were like a second family.

I continued my relationship with the family after moving to Manitoba visiting whenever I could.

Joyce was a special woman and will be missed. She will be remembered with love. 
Here is a photo of my granddaughter and I. I shared my family with Joyce and she met my children in 2014.

Mrs. Prest was like a second mother to me.  Joanne was my closest friend, and her parents were always welcoming and hospitable.  Joyce loved to laugh, loved to bake and loved her family to bits.  As a child and teenager I was blessed to be on the receiving end of her patience, humour and good advice and her family has my deepest condolences 💐.

Sending sincere condolences to the family of Joyce Prest, a dedicated member of Ostomy Halifax Society for many years.   May you be comforted by the love and support of one another as you grieve the loss of your dear Joyce.

I am so sad to hear of Joyce's passing. I truly enjoyed doing her hair for many years and listening to all her stories.  I miss her.

I was so sad to learn of Joyce's passing. I enjoyed seeing and talking to her at the 8:30 service at St. Margaret of Scotland.
She always donated baked goods for funeral receptions when I called and she never turned me down. 
We had  such wonderful conversations when I called to see how she was doing.
Keeping Sears and Prest families in my thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time.

I first met Joyce at Harry and Phyl’s wedding - I was a shy flower girl.  She, and all the Sears family were so kind to me.  I remember her kindness and also her strength in difficult times. 

I’m so sorry to hear of Joyce’s passing. I have enjoyed seeing her in her home as her hair stylist over the past several years. She was a lovely lady who I adored and I will miss her so much. She was so kind and always had baked goods ready to send home with me for my family each time I saw her ❤️ RIP sweet Joyce

I met Joyce and Reg when I was the cystic fibrosis social worker at the IWK as her two daughters had CF and died of the disease.
She was a very devoted  and caring mother who would gladly have died  for her daughters to live .  A wonderful mother and person.My sympathies to her relatives.

Mrs. Prest was one of the nicest people I know. Spent many hours at her place as a child/ teen, playing with Joanne and Susan. She was so kind and pleasant to be around. She has tried for years to get me to call her Joyce, but, because I respected her so much, she will always be Mrs. Prest to me. I feel like I have lost my last link to Joanne and Susan but know she lives on in her grandson. Since our daughter’s middle name is Joanne after my childhood friend, memories of all the Prests continue in our family too. Mrs. Prest may be gone from this earth, but she is finally reunited with her beautiful daughters. May she rest in peace.
