Julie Ann Derry

She leaves to mourn, the light of her life; her husband, Wayne James; her children, Kanosha and Kyla Derry; Barbara Jean Miller; her grandchildren, Dejuana, Kyasiah, Kamiah, Dah’laun, Deh’ziah, Akaijah, Kii’jahni and Knowledge Derry; her sisters, Sheila Sparks, Merna Jackson, Wendy Ford and Stephanie Miller; brothers, Ray Miller, Craig Last; niece, Sakara Miller; Godchild, Marquella Carvery; special son, Kaleeb Jackson as well as special friends, Joan Brooks and Doreen McNamra. Julie is predeceased by her grandmother, Pearl “Thelma” Grant; grandfather, Thomas Downey and brother, Dexter.

Julie was a people person who was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need. The highlight of her life was her children and grandchildren. With her free spirit and contagious sense of humor, she was truly loved by everyone.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax. A private family “send off” will be held at a later date.
