Age 80, of Halifax, NS, passed peacefully after a brave battle with lung cancer on January 27, 2019. Kay worked hard all her life. She loved her family more than life itself. She shared a special bond with her only daughter Debbie and first granddaughter Kathy, who were both by her side until the end. Kay was so proud of all her grandchildren.
Kay is survived by her daughter Debbie (Eric Eagles), granddaughter Kathy (Ricky Grouse); great grandchildren Kyle (Katie) and Bailee, as well as her cat Olivia. She was predeceased by her sisters Mary (Betty) Oickle and Eva Fletcher; special niece Yvonne (Bunny) Oickle, and parents Mary and Bill Reynolds.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 5826 South Street, Halifax.
The family gives special thanks to the nurses on 7A of the VGH, Dr. Dupere and Nurse Sue (6A), as well as to all of the Red Cross workers, in particular Matina, who provided so much care over the last several months.
Service will be held on Friday, February 1st at 11 am from St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 6 St. Michaels Avenue, Halifax.
