Lenora Cecelia Evans-Sullivan (Selig), age 89, of Halifax, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 15, 2015 at the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Cecelia (Perrier) Selig. Her working years began in 1943 and included the Bank of Commerce (CIBC), Halifax City Hall and Nova Scotia Light and Power (NS Power). She retired from NS Power in 1995. Lenora loved baking, dancing, travelling, music, and time spent with husband Ed trailering in Hubbards where she loved playing Chase the Ace, but most of all she loved time spent with her cherished family. She especially loved time spent with her granddaughter, Adrienne and her great granddaughter, Charlotte. Her lemon meringue and banana cream pies were legendary. She was also well known for her Yorkshire puddings and her amazing wedding cakes. Lenora was at the heart of our many family gatherings and her infectious laughter always filled the room. She is survived by her daughter Anne Marie (Carr) and her children Adrienne and Matthew (Erika); son John; son George (Wanda) and their children Lee (Kara), Aaron and Robbie; brother Stan; great grandson, Logan; great granddaughter, Charlotte; nieces Marion, Joan, Cathy, Trish, Carolyn; nephews Bob and Stephen. She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Edgar John Evans and her second husband of 7 years, Cyril A. Sullivan. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax, where visitation will be held Monday, April 20, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Mom’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 21 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, 6903 Mumford Road, Halifax with Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society of Canada – Atlantic Division or the Nova Scotia Lung Association. Our special thanks to Mom’s friend and physician, Dr. Diane D’Arcy for her many years of care and the entire staff of 6-1 Halifax Infirmary, QEII for the kind and compassionate care provided to Mom, with a special thanks to Cheryl, Mom’s angel.
