

Baxter, Lorette Marie – 85, of Dartmouth, passed away Sunday September 2, 2012 at the Halifax Infirmary, Q E II. Born in Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau, she was the daughter of the late Alvinie Anatole and Rosalie Octavie (Muise) Lorgéré. She was a graduate of the Nova Scotia Teachers College in Truro and taught elementary school in Nova Scotia for many years including 24 at Shannon Park Elementary School. She is survived by her son Charles (Nancy), Dartmouth; daughter Gisèle, Vancouver; and a brother Alfred (Mary) Proctor, BC. She was predeceased by a brother Emile and sisters Zita, Bernadette, Céline, Prescille and Rosaline as well as two sisters in infancy. Visitation will be held 6 – 8 pm Thursday, September 6, in Cruikshanks Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street. The Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 am Friday, September 7, in St. Benedict’s Church, Radcliffe Drive. Father Sam Batsa will be officiating. Interment will take place in Mount Hermon Cemetery, Dartmouth. Donations may be made to Hope Cottage 2435 Brunswick Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, B3K 2Z4.
