Margaret Georgina Reid

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Margaret Georgina Reid - 78 of Halifax passed away on January 25, 2016 peacefully at her home. She was the daughter of the late Isaac and Viola (Pye) Fleet.

Margaret was a loving wife and mother, who enjoyed dancing, card socials, gardening and trout fishing with her husband. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and fierce independence as well as having a huge heart for animals, especially her beloved cats.

She is survived by her children; JoAnn; Edward (Glenda); Sheila; and Brendan (Lisa) all of Halifax. Grandchildren Caitlin, Stephanie and Nicholas. Sisters; Alberta Jewers and Eva Murphy and brother Howard Fleet as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Margaret is predeceased by her husband of 46 years, William Edward Reid; her sisters Edith, Elsie, Eileen and Muriel. Brothers; Alvin, Gordon, Alex, Ernie, Freddy and Victor.

Cremation has taken place, visitation for Margaret will be on Monday February 1st, 2016 from 1pm to 2pm where a celebration of Margaret’s Life will be held immediately following, both from Cruikshank’s funeral home 2666 Windsor St. Halifax.
