

MacDonald, Marjorie Magdalene 100 Halifax. Passed away February 22, 2014 in Melville Lodge. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late William and Catherine ( O’Leary) Jackson. Marjorie was a survivor of the Halifax Explosion, she was a member of the St. John the Baptist Church, Halifax, where she was a member of the Catholic Women’s League .She volunteered for Birthright, She also had a passion for knitting and sewing, she was a member of the Rug Hookers guild of Nova Scotia. Marjorie was the last survivor of her immediate family, who died just two weeks shy of her 101st birthday. Marjorie was very of her Irish roots and loved everything Irish. Surviving are her daughter Shauna (Bernard) Bowie, Fredericton; sister in law Eileen Jackson, grandchildren Ryan (Shannon) Bowie,Halifax; Brendan ( Mandi) Bowie, Fort McMurray ; Kathleen ( Andrew Pozzobon) Bowie , Calgary, and great-granddaughter Cait Halifax, and numerous
nieces and nephews . Predeceased by husband James Harold MacDonald, sisters Eva Corner, Jacqueline Mattice, Agnes Jackson; brothers Emmanuel and Lionel. Visitation 2-4,6-8 today in Cruikshanks Funeral Home ,2666 Windsor St.Halifax,
Funeral Service will be held 10 am Wednesday February 26, 2014 in St. John the Baptist Church Halifax. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be to a charity of choice. The family would like to thank her special nephew Wayne and Doreen Corner and friend and neighbor Claire Reynolds for their care and compassion shown to Marjorie and family over the last four years.
