Mary Helen Chapman

Chapman, Helen Mary (lowery) age 93 of Halifax passed away October 16, 2016 in the Halifax Infirmary. Born October 14, 1923 in Louisdale. She was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Sampson) Lowery. Helen was a woman of strong faith, and a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She is survived by Children, Dinah Simmons, Kevin ( Maggie) , Paul ( Eleanor), Joe ( Joanne) , Darlene ( Ron ) Dave ( Melanie) , 12 Grandchildren, sister Mary and several nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her husband of 50 Years, Isaac, who died in 2007 and was sadly missed every day and 8 siblings. Visitation will take place 6-8 pm Wednesday October 19, 2016 in Cruikshanks Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St. Halifax. Funeral Mass will be held 11am Thursday October 20, 2016 in Saint Mother Teresa of Kolkata Parish, 6032 Normandy Dr., Halifax. Fr. Paul MacIntosh Officiating. Cremation after service, burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Saint Mother Teresa Parish, QEII Hospital Foundation, Northwood Foundation, or a charity of choice. The family would like to gratefully thank the staff of the Halifax Infirmary, 8.1, and the staff of Northwood Center.
