Mary A.F. Taylor

Mary died peacefully in her 89th year at Northwood Care, Halifax Campus, on January 12th, 2023, with family by her side. Mary was the loved daughter of the late Norman B. Taylor, MD and Isabel B. Saunders Taylor. She was predeceased by brothers Burwell, Eric and Michael and is survived by Nicholas. Mary leaves behind many nephews, nieces, grand nephews and nieces. She is fondly remembered by her dear friend Maggie Grice.

Mary was a dedicated career nurse. She graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1957 from the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Her career took her to Toronto, England, Kugluktuk (formally Coppermine) NWT and finally finding her true home in Halifax.

As per Mary’s wishes there was no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday January 18, 2023 at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Parish Church, Halifax. A private interment followed.

The family would like to thank the community of care team of 8 Centre at Northwood and are grateful for the years of attending enthusiastically to Mary’s needs with kindness, compassion and humour. The exemplary devotion of care shown to Mary by Kristine, Nancy, Pamela, Rev. Renee, Maria and the so many others is deeply appreciated.
