Michael Walter Lindsay

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved brother, Michael ‘Mike’ Lindsay, at age 65, at his home in Dartmouth, NS .

He is survived by his sisters, Joanne Blanchard (Joseph), Donna Finlin (Robert), Susan Doucette (Joseph),Karen Jack (Robert) and brothers, James ‘Jim’, Donald ‘Lindsay’ (Janice) David, .

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Frances Lindsay, his sister Janice Latta (Lee), and brother John ‘Jackie’, Heather

Born and raised in North End Halifax, Michael attended St. Stephen’s School and St. Patrick’s High School. He later moved to Dartmouth and spent most of his career in the food service industry. He especially enjoyed the years he spent working at Stone Hearth Bakery.

Michael had a great interest in cars and motorbikes and was always open to engaging in conversations about their various options and features, especially with his brother Jackie. Eager to help, he would often lend a hand to his sister Susan with chores around the house and yard. He enjoyed spending time with family, eagerly anticipating visits from his oldest sister, Joanne (JoJo to him). He particularly liked Christmas, with all the decorations and a big turkey dinner!

Michael had a quick wit and amused smile, especially when he beat you to the punch line of a joke yet again. Easily recognized with headphones hanging around his neck, he loved listening to music, news, and his favourite – updates from the latest Toronto Maple Leafs or Blue Jays game.

Despite the many hardships and challenges he’d endured throughout his life, Michael truly was a compassionate soul with a generous and kind heart, who respected and deeply cared about his friends and family. He will be forever missed by all who knew him. On behalf of his family, we would like to sincerely thank the staff from Nova Scotia Community Services and their associates for the support they provided to Mike over the years.

Cremation has taken place, No Visitation

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 11:00 am, at St. Stephen’s Church (6032 Normandy Dr) in Halifax.
