Bob passed away peacefully in his sleep in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Born in Nanaimo BC, Bob’s family eventually moved to Ottawa where he met the love of his life, Marianne, at Fisher Park High School. He started his career as a young ticket agent with Trans Canada Airlines at Ottawa airport, working his way up through various executive positions until he retired from Air Canada as general manager of the Maritimes. Bob’s Air Canada days included stopovers in Montreal, Toronto, St. John’s and Halifax, as well as holidays in exciting and exotic places with Marianne and their daughter Natalie. Following his Air Canada retirement Bob ended his working years outside of the airline industry with management positions in Regina and Yarmouth.
He loved working at Air Canada during the heady days of airline travel from the 60’s into the 90’s. He and Marianne made the most of those years hosting amazing parties, jet-setting and making lifelong friendships along the way. They also loved their many animal companions, including 2 budgies, 2 dogs and many, many cats.
Bob leaves to mourn his daughter Natalie and her partner Linda, sister-in-law Liz Bradley, nieces Julia and Charlotte, nephew Chris and their families. Bob was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Marianne in 2008, brother Gerry and their parents John and Ellen Rose (Mason).
Bob will be cremated and reunited with Marianne at Glenwood Cemetery in Picton, ON, at a private family gathering.
