Ayodele Oluwole Jegede answered the summary summon to eternity on December 23, 2011. He lived up to his Yoruba name, which is Joy. He brought bundles of joy to our family and to all those who knew him. Perceptive, analytical, and interminably driven, Ayo would clown his way among family and close friends if that would bring smiles to the faces of a glum or even unusually quiet company. An amateur chef, Ayo was brilliant, driven, full of charm, vim and vigor. He was kind, appreciative, considerate, loving, and generous. He was a dedicated health and fitness enthusiast who placed as much emphasis on academics as he did on planning for a professional future. Ayo is survived by a sister, two brothers, and two parents. Joy. Forever. Ayo. Forever in our hearts.
Ayo will remain forever green and fresh in our memories. Born in Bloomington, Indiana, in September 1982, Ayo attended South Vigo High School, Terre Haute, Indiana (class of 2000) and Indiana University, Bloomington (2000-2003) where he graduated in record time with two degrees: Political Science, and Philosophy. He received the MA in International Relations from Brown University (2008) and worked briefly at U.S. Bank Cincinnati before proceeding to Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he focused on Tax Law and had only one semester to graduate. The graduation events that we had been planning for exemplifies a truism: your tomorrow is not guaranteed.
