Bobby Gene Rose, age 85, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and quiet kindness. Bobby had a gentle spirit and was a loyal follower of Christ, living his life with humility, devotion, and love for others.
Bobby was born on February 23, 1940, in Clark County, Kentucky, to Norman and Anna Clay Rose. He had three siblings—Jessie, Joyce, and Dewy. His mother passed away when Bobby was just three years old. His father later remarried Jane Rose, and their family grew to include five additional children: Doug, Scottie, Jimmy, Larry, and Judy.
A proud American, Bobby served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps. He especially enjoyed sharing stories from his time stationed in Japan and Cuba, recounting those years with pride.
In 1963, Bobby married Enith Haddox, and together they raised three children: Norma, Dana (Sandra), and Adam. The family made their home in Middletown, Ohio, where Bobby worked faithfully for many years at the Square D Company, retiring after a long and dedicated career. During Enith’s illness, Bobby became her devoted and compassionate caregiver, standing by her side until her passing from ALS—a testament to his unwavering love and commitment.
In 1996, God brought Bobby a new chapter of companionship when he met Debbie Scott, a fellow widower, at church. Bobby became a loving and devoted stepfather to John (Crystal) Scott, Amy (Tim) Ritzie, and Jayson (Jennifer) Scott.
One of the greatest joys of Bobby’s life was being a grandfather. He cherished time with his 11 grandchildren—Christopher, Adam, Caleb, Meredith, Chelsea, Conner, Ava, Alex, Emme, Millie, and Ally—and his six great-grandchildren—Cam, Ainsley, Cohen, Kali, Jaxon, and Georgia. His pride in his family was evident to all who knew him.
Bobby was a faithful member of Greenhills United Baptist Church, where his love for the Lord and steady presence were deeply felt. Pastor Tim Mullins will officiate his service.
In his free time, Bobby was a competitive bowler, participating in bowling leagues well into his 80s. He was also a passionate, lifelong fan of Kentucky Wildcats basketball.
In his final years, Bobby faced numerous health challenges with the same faith, resilience, and quiet strength that defined his life. His family is deeply grateful for the exceptional care and compassion shown by Dr. J. B. Winters, Mary Williams, CNP, and their dedicated office staff.
Bobby will be remembered for his gentle heart, steadfast faith, and devotion to family, as well as the calm, loving presence he brought into the lives of all who knew him. His faith in Christ guided every season of his life and was a source of strength, comfort, and hope to those around him. He now rests in the presence of his Lord and Savior, hearing the words promised in Scripture:
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” — Matthew 25:21 (KJV)
