

Boyd Burns, age 92 of Hamilton, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Westover Retirement Community. Boyd was born on August 18, 1923 in Manchester, KY, the son of the late Delaney and Delora (Keith) Burns. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the WWII Pacific Campaign. While in the military, Boyd was at Pearl Harbor and witnessed the raising of the flag at Iwo Jima. He retired as a Machinist at Champion Papers after working there for 40 years. Boyd is survived by his siblings, Vernon Burns, Nannie Faye Farler, Daisy Smith, Lonnie Burns and Bonnie (Albert) Goforth; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Ida Mae Burns, Dennis Burns, Charlie Burns, Carl Burns and Cecil Burns. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 12pm until 2pm at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton. Funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Tommy Chattan officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Donations may be made in Boyd’s name to Crossroads Hospice, 4380 Glendale Milford Road, Cincinnati, OH 45242.
