

Carl E Smith, 78, went to be with the Lord Saturday January 27, 2024. He resided in West Chester, OH but enjoyed spending winters in Titusville, FL. He attended First Christian Church in Titusville and a member of Christ Church of Mason, Mason, OH. After he graduated from college he served in the U. S. Army as an Officer and his country in Vietnam. He was discharged as a Captain. His life was one of service to his fellow man, his city, State, his country. Carl then began his second career as a civil engineer. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, riding his motorcycle and his favorite dog Milo.
Carl was a member and past Master of Washington Lodge # 17 and was currently serving as their Chaplain. He was a member of Hamilton Washington Chapter # 195 of the Order of the Eastern Star and had served as their Chaplain. He was a Member of The Valley of Cincinnati Scottish Rite and a 32 Degree Mason, as well as a member of Middletown Chapter # 87 of the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons and had served as the High Priest of Hamilton chapter # 21.
He was a Member of Middletown Council # 136 of the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masons of Ohio and had served as the Illustrious Master of Hamilton Council # 19. He was a Member of Middletown Commandery # 71 Knights Templar and had served as the Commander of Hamilton Commandery # 41. He was a Knight York Cross of Honor.
He was a member of the Allied Masonic Degrees. He was a member of Hamilton # 414 High Twelve Club and was serving as their Chaplain and Wolcott /representative. He was currently serving as the Sergeant at Arms for the Ohio Association of High Twelve Clubs.
Carl is survived by his wife Shirley Smith Wife of 18 years, Daughter- Heather Rae Napier (Shawn), Son- Carl Edward Smith (Ginger), step children Michael Boehm (Holly), Jennifer Wolf (Victor) Sister- Sandra Stoddard (Jeff), Brother- Larry Smith Sister- Barbra Bechtel (Steve), 7 grandchildren and many cousins, nieces & nephews. Sister in law, Judy Haboush, Sharon Caliguri (Pat), brother in laws Everett Taylor (Becky), Tony Taylor (Patti). Preceded in death by his parents, Nathan & Lois Smith, father in law, Everett H Taylor, brother in law Raymond Haboush and wife of 32 years, Karen Kay Smith.
A short celebration of life will be held on March 9th from 11am-1pm at the Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum in Hamilton, Ohio with entombment to immediately follow.
