Carol Sue Schwegman

Carol Sue Schwegman 86, of Hamilton passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Fort Hamilton Hospital. Carol was born February 22, 1939 in Oxford, Ohio to the late Carey and Lena (Huffman) Jacobs. Also preceding her death are her beloved husband of 48 years Gerald Schwegman in 2012, and brother Carey Lee Jacobs.

Carol leaves to cherish her memory daughters Latisha (Michael Todd) Petrea, Patricia (Brian) True; grandchildren Carol Anne (Xavier Staley) Petrea, Gracie Petrea, Jacob True; great-grandson Oliver Staley; sister Bonnie (Ron) VanOsdol.

Carol graduated from Talawanda High School in 1957, and Miami University where she earned her BS and Masters Degree. She taught high school English in Fairfield City Schools for 38 years. She was a talented classical pianist. Carol enjoyed gardening, cooking, decorating and playing the piano. She was a beloved and devoted mother; her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Carol’s family will receive friends at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 2565 Princeton Road, Hamilton, Monday August 25 starting at 10:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Following services, Carol will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Burial Park next to her beloved Gerald.
