

Age 86, of Hamilton, passed away on Sunday September 28, 2014 at Westover Retirement Community. He was born in Hamilton on August 5, 1928 the son of Howard L. and Dorotha A. (Falkenstein) Irwin. Clyde received his education in the Hanover Township Schools, graduating in 1946. On June 6, 1946 he married Margaret Elaine Brosius. They enjoyed 57 years of married life together before her death on June 19, 2003. An electrician, Clyde was employed as a superintendent for Wente Electrical Construction Co. where he was affectionately known as “Sparky”. He was a member of IEBW local 648 for 55 years. Clyde was an active member of First St. John United Church of Christ. A member of Monkey Mutual Aid Society #1 and active member of Moose Lodge #36 where he served as Governor. Clyde enjoyed golf, bowling, dancing, and gardening. He is survived by his daughters, Corinne Farmer and Lisa McLaughlin and their husbands Ted and Patrick; grandchildren, Jon Kennedy, Ian Irwin, Josh Irwin, Kim Mullins, and Elise Torres; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Stephanie, Justin, Jordon, Jason, Abby, and Rowan; siblings, Marilyn (Dale) Garner, Alan (Donna) Irwin, and Karen (Kenneth) Aber; sisters-in-law, Lola Irwin and Marion Brosius; brother-in-law Morris Van Gorden; and his many special nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his son, Steven Neil Irwin; siblings, Ralph (Mary) Irwin, Kathleen (Eldon) Wiley, Hank (Carol) Irwin, Milton Irwin, and Norma Van Gorden; brothers-in-law, John and James Brosius; and sister-in-law, Jo Ann Brosius. Visitation will be held at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, 240 Ross Ave., Hamilton, on Thursday Oct. 2nd from 10:00AM to 11:30 AM at which time the IEBW will present an honor service, followed by funeral services with Clyde’s niece, Rev. Pamela Wooden. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Colonial Foundation, 520 Eaton Ave, Hamilton, Ohio 45013. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the doctors, nurses, and staffs of Westover, Berkeley Square, and Crossroads Hospice for their wonderful care and tender assistance to Clyde and his family.
