

Elizabeth G. Hicks Fuller (Gretchen Fuller), Born on September 11, 1910 near Huntington, West Virginia to William W. and Geneva (Furginson) Nunn, died December 24, 2016 at Westover Retirement Community. Educated in Huntington, WV public schools and Marshall University, she taught school in West Virginia for eight years and later in Hamilton for ten years at Notre Dame Academy. She was an accomplished seamstress, serious bridge player, ballroom dancer and enthusiastic world traveler. A woman of strong Christian faith, she was an active, long time member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Hamilton, as well as a 65-year active member of the John Reilly Chapter of DAR. During her long life, she had three husbands. She married Russell Hicks in 1937, and they moved to Hamilton, OH in 1950. Russell died suddenly in 1975. In 1979, she married LeRoy Wittlesey. He died in 1986. He is survived by his daughter, Margery Conrad of Hamilton. Gretchen was also active at the Hamilton Senior Citizens where she met her last husband, Bern Fuller. They married in 1996 and enjoyed 11 years of loving companionship. During that time, they made a winter home in Mission, Texas, where they danced, played bridge and enjoyed many friends, returning to Hamilton each spring. They moved to Westover in 2007 and Bern died later that year. She is survived by the dear family of her deceased sister: Niece Mary Scott, her children, John (Scottie) Scott, Julie Scott, Mary-Gray Hollingsworth, and Beth Scott, all living in Florida. She is also survived by the children of Bern Fuller: Marilyn Lee (Alaska), her daughter Star Lee (Norway), and Sue Samoviski (Mike), and her daughters, Kim Graff and Karin Samoviski. The family would like to thank the staff of Westover for all the loving care given Gretchen over the years, and most recently by the staff of Nursing Care at Westover and Vitas Hospice. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 N.W. Washington Blvd. Hamilton, OH 45013 at 11:00am. Visitation will be from 10:00am until 11:00am.
